On Sunday, October 19th, Jane and I will be at the Good News Community Kitchen’s annual award dinner downtown. Sam Roan is being awarded as a volunteer of the year from our church. Due to this committment, there will be no Youth Group in the evening of October 19th. There will be Jr. and Sr. High classes in the morning.

The Jr. High Youth, who are also in the Crossing Confirmation Program, have a retreat from 9:30 – 3:30 at the church. The first half hour, from 9:30 – 10:00, is a worship service that at least one parent from each family needs to attend. This will be a fun learning adventure to give off our time together as a confirmation community. Lunch will be provided. Please email Court at Court@stjamestheless to verify your attendance. Thanks!

We had a great Sr. High meeting on Sunday 9/14. There were only 4 of us, but we had a great time playing a fun game called “Forced Choices.” This game makes you pick distinctions about yourself and then explain them. Created a lot of great conversation.

We also discussed the difference between “Mission Trip” and “Pilgrimage.” The group decided that they would prefer to do a Mission Trip where they go and do something for someone as opposed to going on a pilgrimage where they go and experience something for their own personal and spiritual growth.
